Day 53
I decided to keep the Leiki cane after a trial of all the canes and shock absorbing trek poles in every combination I have. The cane forces more weight onto mu leg and doesn't allow me to lean to my left as much which in the long term is good for me. I still can not ascend steps 1 after the other due to pain with pressure to push off the surgical limb.
I did spoon with my fiancée after putting 2 pillows between my legs. That would be funny if she had to explain how she was getting pillow burns on her buttock as I was trying to position them correctly. You can't set it up on your back and expect it to work right.
So I am doing more hip flexion and LAQ. Yesterday I used 2 lbs and tomorrow I will go for 3.
With reality setting in I am turning my attention back to what will I be able to do in 4-6 weeks. It is impossible for me to know especially since I have no idea how the osteotomy is healing. There is still pain with sitting and leaning so time will tell to some degree. I am not going to remotely jeopardize the healing of my hip no matter what
I did go out to get my haircut and to the Coumadin clinic to find out my blood level is 5.??. Guess no worries on it being too low anymore. I have done nothing differently other than become more active and they did DC Rifampin but no changes happened 2-3 weeks later. Maybe it has a long half-life or clearance time.
I have decided I want to win the lottery since my future is a bit uncertain and relaxed time rests the soul.
